Leave room
for the rest of life.
A tool should have a place in your life. It should not quietly become the place where your life happens.
A pause, chosen.
In “Digital minimalism”, Vitalik Buterin describes choosing how to engage with technology: changing the interface through which he uses social media, living with cellular data off by default, and turning to local, modular tools. The thread running through these experiments is authorship over one’s own attention.
digital minimalism is an independent interpretation of that idea, expressed through a small on-chain experiment. A holder may set tokens aside, share actual ETH funding, and return whenever they choose. Offline names the state of those tokens. It does not prove, require or monitor a person’s absence from the internet.
We do not claim that locking up a token creates economic output. The project distributes externally funded ETH using an explicit rule. Its cultural premise is a quieter way to participate; its financial mechanism is redistribution.
Simple choices. Exact rules.
Deposits have no fixed term. You may withdraw any part of your deposited tokens at any time, without an exit charge, forfeiture or cooldown. Ethereum network fees still apply. A pause on new deposits never pauses withdrawals or reward collection.
Each deposited base unit accumulates one unit of weight per second. At the instant an ETH funding is confirmed, it is allocated among current deposits in proportion to their accumulated token-seconds. Time weight is uncapped. Older deposits may have substantially greater weight than newer deposits of the same size.
Added tokens start at zero age. Partial withdrawal removes the same proportion of your accumulated age as the proportion of tokens withdrawn. Full withdrawal removes all active age. Earned rewards and fractional reward accounting survive withdrawal. Re-entering begins a fresh age for the new deposit.
Collecting ETH does not reset time or change your deposit. There is no compounding action. Rewards do not accrue between funding events. A later deposit never receives earlier funding, and someone who exits before a funding does not participate in that funding.
The contract settles allocations lazily using two cumulative indices, without looping through users. Index rounding is downward; user fractions below one wei are carried forward. Tiny residual ETH may remain in the contract. See the accounting specification.
Two people, one funding.
Alice deposits 100 DM. One day later, Bob deposits 100 DM. After another day, 0.3 ETH is added. Alice has 200 DM-days of weight; Bob has 100. Alice receives approximately 0.2 ETH and Bob approximately 0.1 ETH, subject to integer rounding.
This is an illustration, not a return forecast. Different funding amounts and participants produce different results. Time alone creates no ETH.
Follow the money.
The DM token launches on Stockereum on Ethereum with an ETH pair and a normal 3% trading fee. Under the platform’s current rules, 1% of trade volume goes to the platform and 2% to the creator. During the opening anti-snipe window, temporarily higher fees apply and the excess goes to the platform.
ETH-pair creator fees are claimable as WETH. The creator manually claims them, unwraps WETH into ETH, then funds Offline. Those are separate transactions. Only actual ETH accepted by Offline is allocated to rewards. The native Stockereum Holder Rewards option must be OFF at launch.
Funding is discretionary and depends on the creator’s action. No contract forces all creator fees to reach Offline. Anyone may contribute ETH, but funding requires at least one active deposit with positive time weight. Without eligible deposits, native ETH funding reverts. WETH sent directly to the contract can be converted and distributed once eligible deposits exist; whoever calls conversion determines its timing.
Know what you are trusting.
The project deploys its companion contract before the token exists. The administrator binds a token once after launch. Binding checks the official factory and hook, original creator, fixed supply, WETH quote, normal 3% fee and creator fee routing. Binding cannot be changed.
The administrator can pause new deposits and propose a new administrator, accepted in a second step. They cannot withdraw users’ principal or allocated ETH, set exit conditions, confiscate earned rewards or change the reward formula. The contract is not upgradeable.
Public transactions expose wallet addresses, token amounts and reward history. Offline is not a privacy protocol. The leaderboard ranks all participating addresses by ETH already earned, including collected and currently claimable ETH, at a stated block.
There is no guaranteed yield, token price, liquidity or funding schedule. Smart-contract bugs, wallet compromise, platform behavior and Ethereum failures remain possible. Testing and source publication do not constitute an independent security audit.
